My name is Adam J Sporka and my home is the Alps. I am a PhD candidate at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Electrical Engineering. My advisor is Prof. Pavel Slavik. Recently, I joined the ADAMACH Project team at the University of Trento, Italy. My supervisor is Prof. Giuseppe Riccardi.

My main interest, among others, is the acoustic modality in HCI, especially the applications of human voice. With Sri Kurniawan of University of Manchester we wrote numerous papers on Non-verbal Vocal Interaction (NVVI) which also is the topic of my PhD thesis which I hope to finish sometimes during Spring 2008. I received my master’s degree also from the CTU in Prague. My MSc thesis was about 3D sound rendering. I am also focusing on the user interfaces for the elderly and the people with vision and motor difficulties. Last year I have been involved in the project i2home.

I am also an active musician, playing piano and flute (see also My Music), and a passionate reader of science fiction. My favorite 8-bit platform is Atari 800 XL.
